The European Commission: Taylor Swift can help encourage young people to vote

The European Commission asked the singer to motivate young people to go to the polls.

We can no longer deny it: Taylor Swift is one of the most influential women of the moment. And the latter tries to use this wisely. On her social networks, the singer notably called on Americans to register to vote. Information which did not escape Margaritis Schinas, one of the vice-presidents of the European Commission. “The day after his message, 35,000 young Americans registered to vote,” he explained during a press conference.

Margaritis Schinas then wondered whether this technique could also work among young Europeans. "Now is the time for them to have their say at the ballot box, to assign praise or blame to European policies. So it is crucial, I think, that we have, as in 2019, a level high level of participation," he continued. “No one can mobilize young people better than young people. This is how it works.”

And, when Margaritis Schinas speaks of "young people", he mentions in particular the case of Taylor Swift: "Taylor Swift will be in Europe in May. So I hope that she will do the same thing for young Europeans and that someone from his media team will follow this press conference and forward this request to him."

As our colleagues from Voix du Nord explain, Taylor Swift will be present in Paris on May 9... namely the date of Europe Day! Would this be the right opportunity for her to encourage young people to go to the polls? This remains to be confirmed...

Can Taylor Swift Become the Master of the World? (II)

I asked this question in the previous post. I thought it was an interesting one

Well, knowing what the question is referring to, I would really like to answer in the negative way. I also have some reasons that I will include below:

First and foremost, I must say that symptomatic of the fallow pubescent meadows, the biggest of Taylor's cored Fane club is very young, 13–14 years old, suffice to say that they are not about to vote. We have plenty of time to die between now and then.

In addition, she has already tried to influence an election in Tennessee in 2018, on the basis of tomorrow we shave for free and for which her favorite candidate broke his neck.

At most and very important to me, taking a stand she will lose sales. This will happen because, undoubtedly, she will be booed and stoned in the media by a part of the American people, very likely.

The divisions are far too marked, unless we consider that she can influence the in-between, that part of the undecided or disappointed electorate in one camp or the other and particularly in its native state.

Especially since, proof of her modernity or her senility, Joe Biden confuses her with Britney Spears.

One after another, remaining skeptical, I cannot see Taylor as ae electoral weapon in Biden's favor.

Can Taylor Swift Become the Master of the World? (I)

Through her call to vote for Biden or Trump, can Taylor Swift rock the world order? Has she become the true master of the world?

This question makes me courious to try a word game in English:

“Can the country be saved or doomed by the country star?”

A legitimate question if ever our tailor is quick to react to political news (this one is in French based on "my Taylor is Swift").

Indeed, the tall pole native of Reading - 1m80 - in addition to knowing how to read, is a mega-star there who, at the age of Christ, had already broken many records:

One in fifteen vinyls sold in the United States in 2023 was by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's music is listened to more in the United States than the jazz and classical genres combined. So, of course, it does not walk on water but on the record industry, does not multiply the rolls but the downloads, an important fact in this all-digital world.

So, Can Taylor Swift Become the Master of the World?
See my answer in the next post
